Unleash Your iPod

I use my iPod almost everyday and have been considering making an amp so i can use the better quality line-out. Already seen some nice aluminium Hammond cases so just needed the circuit. Richard J Murdey designed the ‘Headclone’ using a dual op-amp which seemed ideal as i could power it from a 9V battery. The circuit was hand drawn and then etched and drilled, the result wasn’t bad and everything soldered up ok. Cramming it all into the case was a bit scary as the battery takes up most of the room, in fact if you look at the pics you’ll notice the sockets, switch etc are not nicely laid out, thats purely down to the fact i had to juggle everything to fit!

Results:
Sound quality is really very good and it also powers my Senn HD600s easily although obviously i don’t know how long the battery will last.
